The Para Sport Festival comprises a mixture of Take Part events and Competitive events.
Outside of traditional mega-events, like the Paralympics, Deaflympics, Virtus Global Games or Special Olympic Games, this is the first event of its kind.
Take Part events are open to participants of all skill levels. These events are designed to make inclusive and para sport accessible to anyone.
Competitive events are showcases of elite level para sport. Cheer on some of the most talented para athletes from around the UK and abroad.

Para Table Tennis Grand Prix in memory of Gorazd Vecko. Gorazd transformed the British Para Table Tennis programme, establishing a high performance base in Sheffield and introducing a ‘family culture’ that allowed athletes to flourish and achieve their potential. Under his leadership the British team took a major step forward, winning four medals at London 2012 and three at Rio 2016, including gold for Will Bayley (men’s class 7 singles) and Rob Davies (men’s class 1 singles).

insport Series events provide inclusive sport and physical activity opportunities for disabled young people and adults across Wales. insport Series: Swansea is a Take Part event in the 2026 Para Sport Festival, and will offer different sports suitable for everyone.

Welsh Shooting is proud to work in partnership with Disability Sport Wales to deliver the British Open Para Sport Championships 2026 as part of the Para Sport Festival. Building on the success of previous championships, the event celebrates the diversity and inclusivity of target shooting while continuing to grow participation opportunities across the sport. The championships will welcome disabled athletes from across the UK to compete in Air Rifle and Air Pistol events in a supportive, high-quality competitive environment.

The Home Nations Para Powerlifting Open will take place on Sunday 13 September at the National Weightlifting Performance Centre, based at Bangor University.
This exciting event marks the first time Weightlifting Wales has been part of the Disability Sport Wales Para Sport Programme, bringing together Welsh para powerlifting athletes alongside athletes from the British Weightlifting Para Powerlifting pathway.
Supported by coaches, staff and technical officials from both Wales and England, the event aims to strengthen opportunities for para powerlifting athletes across the UK, while also supporting the continued development of para powerlifting in Wales.
Weightlifting Wales is proud to collaborate with Disability Sport Wales and British Weightlifting on this exciting event.
